Sharma is Legal Aid boss

Lautoka lawyer Sunil Sharma has been appointed the Acting Director of the Legal Aid Commission.

Solicitor-General, Christopher Pryde made the appointment on Friday.

Former Director Filimone Vosarago’s contract expired on May 31, 2009 and was not renewed.

Vosarogo was also asked to vacate the official residence of the director in Muanikau, Suva.

Sharma is a Senior Legal Officer and Manager of the Legal Aid Commission’s Office in Lautoka.

Pryde said the substantive position will be advertised shortly.

According to Pryde, Vosarogo can apply for the post again.
