Jetties on the island of Kadavu to the south of Viti Levu and Rabi will be developed soon to help improve services.
Permanent Secretary for Works Anand Kumar said for Kadavu, the course way road has been done while a tender is in the process of being advertised for the construction of the jetty by a contractor.
For Rabi, the ministry would approach this particular project on a design build basis.
“The successful bidder is responsible for the design which the Department of National Roads would vet and approve for the jetty to be constructed,” Kumar said.
