Ninety permanent staff from the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) will be redeployed to other government ministries and departments.

Public Service Commission Permanent Secretary Parmesh Chand told FijiLive the staffs were redeployed after a review was conducted following the formation of FRA.

Chand said permanent wage earners in FRA that will be made redundant will receive a redundancy package on the formula approved by Cabinet while the temporary staff that will also be made redundant will be eligible for redundancy if they meet the approved criteria.

He said the reviews are part of their reform program to right size the civil service, reduce the operating costs of the civil service and bring about efficiency and productivity service wide.

Chand added that other government ministries are also under review and their reports will be released soon.
