Two of the five escapees, Isoa Waqa and Solomoni Qurai appeared at the Magistrates Court in Suva today while Epeli Qaraniqio still remains at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital.

Waqa and Qurai appeared before Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili alleged with recent aggravated robberies, damaging properties and resisting arrest.

Magistrate Ratuvili referred most of the cases to High Court to while only a few remain with the Magistrates Court.

Both the escapees have been alleged to have damaged the ceiling and fences of the Fiji Correction Services which has been regarded as damaging property. They also have been alleged to have been involved in the recent Bank of the South Pacific robbery and Wish-Bone robbery.

Meanwhile, the two confirmed receiving medical treatment at CWMH and their pleas have been deferred to a later date by Magistrate Ratuvili.

The case at the Magistrates Court has been adjourned till October 22 while matters adjourned to the High Court will be called on October 26.

The duo are remanded in custody.
