A mentally ill prisoner at the Natabua Corrections Centre in Lautoka wandered off during a weeding session with other inmates, but was found within an hour by the authorities. “He had escaped from the centre at 7.30am today and was brought back an hour later,” Fiji Correction Services spokesperson Ana Tamani said. Meanwhile, investigations still continue in the case of the five recaptured inmates that fled from the Naboro Medium Corrections Centre last month.
Tamani said that they are still trying to determine how the five escaped.
