Flamboyant British pop icon Elton John has scored his first number one album in his home country for over 20 years, his seventh in total.

The bespectacled pianist claimed the official top spot with "Good Morning To The Night", a collaboration with Australian duo Pnau.

The antipodean pair have reworked John's early 1970s hits as dance anthems, giving him his first chart-topper since releasing the "Very Best of Elton John" in 1990.
