Many devotees around the country are today celebrating the 86th birthday of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

Sri Sathya Sai Baba was born on 26 November, 1926.

Speaking to FijiLive the Director for Indian Cultural Centre, High Commission of India Dr Kamal Kishor Mishra said Sri Sathya Sai Baba epitomised the characteristics of compassion, discipline and right conduct remarkably.

Dr Mishra said Sai Baba provisioned the values of compassion, love and brotherhood for all throughout the world.

Baba’s name Sathya represents truth which is believed to be have been transmitting cosmic waves ever since the universe evolved.

Sri Sathya Sai Baba always taught people and his followers that God shines as the soul in different bodies.
 
Locally various programmes have been organised by the Sathya Sai Service Organisation of Fiji to commemorate the birth celebrations of Baba.

Sathya Sai Service Organisation of Fiji secretary Karunesh Rao said they will be celebrating Baba’s birthday at the Narere Sai Centre, Nav Durga Temple Hall in Nasinu tonight.

Sai centres around the various locations in the country will be holding special celebrations as well.
