The Attorney General and Minister for Commerce and Industries has called a stakeholder meeting this Thursday to discuss the issues hindering Kentucky Fried Chicken’s (KFC) operation in Fiji.

This has been confirmed by KFC spokesman Nirmal Singh in a statement issued today.

Singh reiterated the local government authorities should be facilitating assistance to investors and local businesses to enhance investments and job creation.

He also said KFC remains committed to Fiji and its people.

KFC earlier said their temporarily closure is due to certain ingredients which they are not allowed to import because of bans placed by Biosecurity Authority of Fiji (BAF).

However, BAF said KFC’s closure is not due to any bans imposed by them but through their own admission to rising costs and deteriorating sales.
