The Fiji Prisons and Corrections Services (FPCS) has been paid $5000 for a set of uniforms tailored for Fiji’s firemen.
The National Fire Authority (NFA) gave $5000 to the FPCS after receiving the batch of corporate uniforms tailored by the inmates.
NFA communications officer Ritesh Kumar said the money was given to the tailoring section of the FPCS.
Kumar said that the NFA was the FPCS’ first commercial customer and that the uniforms would be a testament to the resource and skills potential at the Naboro complex and a success indicator of the Yellow Ribbon prisoner rehabilitation initiative.
“We received 50 sets of uniforms from FPCS which included 50 long trousers and 50 long sleeved shirts.” Kumar stated.
NFA acting chief executive officer Jone Koroi said that the initiative was part of the continued cooperation between the two emergency forces.
