Boxer held in remand over marijuana rap

Top Fiji boxer Zulfikar Joy Ali is in remand after appearing in the Nadi Magistrates Court today charged with cultivating marijuana.

No plea was taken when he appeared before Magistrate Nazeem Sahu Khan.

The case was transferred to the High Court in Lautoka to be called on Monday.

Ali was charged after police allegedly found 139 marijuana plants beside his Nadi house on Tuesday.
