A Massachusetts man has been charged with robbing a bank of more than $32,000 then fleeing the scene on a bicycle.
The Department of Justice says Harley Traverse, 25, is alleged to have entered a Citizens Bank branch on Main St, South Kingston, on Rhode Island at about 9.08am (local time) on March 12 and handed a teller a note demanding $US50,000. The note warned the teller that Traverse had a gun and a police scanner. It was alleged Traverse left the bank with about $US32,400 and rode away on a bicycle. If convicted, Traverse faces up to 20 years in US federal prison.
