Tonga’s Prime Minister Doctor Feleti Sevele this morning met with Fiji’s Foreign Affairs Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola behind closed doors at the Suvavou House.
Dr. Sevele when approached by FijiLive refused to provide and disclosures on the matters discussed between the two.
“The meeting was behind closed doors between Mr. Kubuabola and I and it is not appropriate to give any information to anyone at this point,” he said.
Dr. Sevele's Press Secretary and Political Advisor Lopeti Senituli confirmed the meeting was just between the Tongan PM and Kubuabola and Fiji’s Prime Minister was not present.
Senituli added Dr. Sevele will be attending more meetings later today and others scheduled over the next few days.
Dr. Sevele is expected to confirm whether Tonga will participate in the Melanesian Spearhead Group Plus meeting to be hosted by Fiji next month.
