The Fiji Red Cross is working jointly with the Ministry of Health in spreading awareness about the use of water purification tablets.
Red Cross Disaster Coordinator, Vuli Qauma told FijiLive right now they are informing people and demonstrating how to use the tablets.
"People need to be informed about how much to add in certain amounts of water to prevent any complications," he said.
Qauma also confirmed their relief efforts in distributing emergency aid has been quite rapidly.
"Teams have completed distribution in Lomaiviti, Vanuabalavu and Cikobia along with other parts and we will be moving to other affected areas soon.
The Fiji Red Cross is also distributing first aid and hygiene packs like hand sanitizers along with tarpaulins and blankets.
"We have been working closely with the government and have been allowed to use their vehicle and other resources as well in order to coordinate distribution of relief supplies faster," Qauma said.
