Sixty eight percent of Fiji’s primary and secondary school student population has qualified for a State-run bus fare subsidy scheme under which they will travel free to school.
The Ministry of Education has announced the figure after inviting applications from parents early this year.
The ministry says 84, 358 students from 622 schools have qualified for the Transport Assistance Scheme.
The ministry says with very little change expected to these figures, it will round up its data analysis this week.
It has also reminded schools to submit their acquittals as soon as possible.
