The Australia and New Zealand Banking Corporation has announced a raft of cyclone-relief measures for its customers apart from a $50,000 donation to the Fiji Red Cross Society.
ANZ South Pacific chief executive officer Michael Rowland said the bank wanted to help support customers and local businesses get back to business as usual “for the good of the whole community”.
Rowland said he hoped the donation will provide some practical help with relief efforts on the ground.
“Assistance will also be tailored to meet the needs of customers on a case by case basis,” he said.
The bank is waiving fees for rural banking customers for the months of March and April, is offering interest-only repayments for business and personal loans for up to three months and is waiving early withdrawal costs for term deposits.
“We hope this assistance will provide some relief as the recovery gets underway,” said ANZ Fiji CEO Norman Wilson.
