The Bank of South Pacific (BSP) in Fiji has assured customers of the former Colonial Bank of Fiji that there will be no operational changes following BSP’s takeover of Colonial.
BSP country manager Kevin McCarthy said that although Automated Teller Machines have been given a new look, the machines will still accept the old Colonial cards from customers.
“This will be until customers have been issued with new BSP cards,” McCarthy said.
“Colonial insurance customers do not need to worry about the transition as they will continue receiving normal services as before,” he said.
Launching a rebranding campaign in Suva today, McCarthy admitted that the banking business in Fiji is more challenging compared to operating in other Pacific countries such as Papua New Guinea.
“We will face some challenges which we believe can be overcome by new innovations and projects.”
He said BSP will be working on upgrading their computer systems and services to bring it up to par with the latest technological advancements.
“We are a big Pacific bank and Fiji is part of our strategic system to undergo upgrades to overcome challenges.”
BSP’s take over of Colonial from the Commonwealth Bank of Australia was finalised in mid-December and was officially announced in January this year.
