Hospitals around the country will tend to emergency and serious cases only in view of Tropical Cyclone Tomas.
And clinics for special outpatient and general outpatient at all hospitals will be closed from Monday, March 15.
Health spokesman Iliesa Tora said outpatient services can be directed to health centres and nursing stations around the country.
“At the same time all pregnant mothers who are expected to give birth this week should start contacting the nearest health facility to co-ordinate their booking at hospitals they are booked at.
“This will be reviewed after the cyclone has passed the country,” Tora said,
All nurses, doctors and health inspectors have been instructed to report to work despite the announcement by the Public Service Commission that there will be no work for civil servants until further notice.
According to Tora, only civil servants providing essential services will continue to work.
