The Health Response Team is on standby as Cyclone Tomas moves towards the Fiji group.
Health ministry officials say teams will be on duty at the main hospitals in Suva, Lautoka and Labasa.
The officials say they are monitoring the cyclone closely and the public would be informed if they had to evacuate staff from the three hospitals.
They are also urging the public to stock up on essentials.
