The Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) and government will receive a total of more than $11 million at the end of the month when dividends from shares held with Amalgamated Telecom Holdings Limited (ATH) will be disbursed.
FNPF, which owns 58.2 percent of ATH will be paid $7.3 million – while government will receive $4.3 million from the 34.6 percent stake it has in the company.
Total dividend payments approved by the ATH Board amount to $12,663,146.04 or 3 cents a share when the company closes its financial year on March 31.
Companies in the ATH group include Telecom Fiji Ltd, Vodafone Fiji Ltd, Fiji Directories Ltd, Internet Services Fiji Ltd (trading as Connect), Transtel Ltd, Xceed Pasifika Ltd, ATH Call Centre Ltd (trading as ATH InTouch) and Pacific Emerging Technologies Ltd.
The company began operations in 1998 and has since paid dividends totaling $266.5 million, out of which the FNPF has received $152.2 million and government $98.3 million.
