A major landslide occurred around noon today in Sawani and the Public Works ministry has closed the Savu Road because of cracks on the road resulting from the landslide.
The Savu Road was partially closed earlier due to flood waters rising over the new Naqali bridge.
Residents of Waila in Nausori have moved to higher ground while Vuci Road and parts of Korovou is under three-to- four feet of water.
Fiji’s Meteorological Services director Rajendra Prasad told FijiLive more rain is expected in the next three days till Thursday.
Police have also asked the public to refrain from swimming or crossing rivers and creeks, particularly on this Prophet Mohammed public holiday.
