Former Nasinu Town Clerk, Jaswant Kumar has been found guilty of abuse of office and embezzlement.
All three assessors today delivered their verdict in the High Court in Suva.
High Court Judge Justice Daniel Gounder was satisfied with the verdict of the assessors.
“The assessors have given a unanimous decision and have found the accused guilty on the count of abuse of office,” he said.
Charges against Kumar were brought against him by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) over allegations that a cheque of $2344.44 meant for payment to Post Fiji was cashed.
Kumar, who is represented by Rajendra Chaudhry, will be sentenced tomorrow.
He was charged along with former Nasinu mayor Rajeshwar Kumar who was told that he does not have a case to answer.
