Toyota's recall of Tacoma pickup trucks in North America covers around 10,000 vehicles, including 1,500 in Canada, Japanese news reports said Saturday.
In the latest embarrassment for the world's biggest automaker, Toyota said in the United States on Friday it was voluntarily recalling 8,000 of the 2010 model Tacoma four-wheel drive pickups to inspect the front drive shaft.
Kyodo News agency said another 1,500 units of the truck were being recalled in Canada.
The Mainichi newspaper on its website said some 200 more Tacomas would be pulled, including some from the Mexican market.
Toyota has recalled millions of vehicles in past months due to problems linked to accelerator and brake functions.
