A Fiji union says it is willing to apologise to the capital city’s administrator’s on behalf of a group of city council workers sacked last week for reported anti-government statements.
Suva City Council Staff Association secretary Krishna said he is willing to talk with the management and the government over the sacking of the 12 employees.
“But we cannot do anything unless we receive a formal request from those sacked,” Krishna told FijiLive.
While city council administrator Marica Hallacy said she would not comment on the issue, Krishna said the union is willing to apologise to the council management and the government on behalf of the employees if they were indeed guilty of posting anti-government comments on blogs.
