Tourism Fiji’s India road show was a success as there was enthusiasm shown by travel agents and wholesalers in India.

Tourism Fiji chief executive Josefa Tuamoto said they conducted workshops – where presentations on the destination was made as well as the airline.

“A 3-hour intensive training schedule then followed – this was on a one on one basis.

“The workshop was really to educate our travel partners in India on the Fiji product as well as our Fiji operators to understand the needs of the Indian traveller so that itineraries are designed to match there expectations,” he told FijiLive.

According to Tuamoto, this was the first time they conducted a road show to India and they are very pleased with the response.

The roadshow was conducted in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai where over 250 travel agents and wholesalers were attracted.

"It was very well attended," Tuamoto added.

The group was accompanied by Tourism Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

Tourism Fiji plans to do a follow-up show in September.
