A Fiji man has been held and questioned by police overnight in connection with the fatal knifing of a 32-year-old woman in Suva yesterday.
Police say the man struck the woman with a cane knife during an argument inside their house at Mali Place, off Reservoir Road.
The woman is believed to have collapsed and died in her yard while fleeing the attack.
The man is being held at the Samabula Police Station.
Police assistant spokesman Sergeant Suliano Tevita said a team of detectives had completed forensic investigations at the scene yesterday and were now awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination.
