Australian Law firm Minter Ellison has been engaged by Fiji’s Ministry of Justice to carry out a “comprehensive review” of the Companies Act, the registration of Business Names Act and related laws and regulations.
The move is part of a government initiative to review and reform Fiji’s laws and align them with international standards said Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
Stage one of the review process is complete with the preparation of an “issues paper”.
The second stage of the review process will begin next week when consultations on the issues paper will be held with “key stakeholders” at the AG’s offices.
