Major Fiji Internet service provider Connect Internet Services says engineers are now working on the vulnerabilities of its corporate website, which was hacked into early yesterday.

Connect said the website was pointed at a static page put up by the hacker.

Marketing manager Dwain Qalovaki said the incident was an isolated one confined only to the Connect website.

Qalovaki said it had no effect on the provision of internet services, emails, hosting or customer databases.

"There has also been no breach to the Connect customers’ username and password," he reassured customers.

"Our engineers have managed to re-direct all traffic to our webmail portal while work continues to rectify (the) hijacking. We are also reviewing all web security measures to ensure that any such intrusions are managed more effectively in future," said Swantha Jayesingha, manager Connect Internet Services.
