A 26-year-old Fiji man is dead and two others are in serious condition following an explosion on a yacht they were working on in Suva last night.
The three men were painting the yacht, the "NAAIA" in Walu Bay where it was anchored when the explosion occurred at about 7pm last night.
The 26-year-old died instantly. His two companions are admitted to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital. They suffered serious burns.
The National Fire Authority says firefighters found the man dead when they arrived at the scene.
A spokesman said the explosion did not cause a fire.
Police say the yacht belongs to an American who is currently in Fiji.
Police are yet to establish communication with him.
