Police in Fiji have reportedly obtained a confession from a suspect in the murder of two Indian businessmen whose bodies were found in a suitcase near the western town of Ba at the weekend.
There were reports tonight that a suspect arrested in the murder of Rajamanickam Venkatachalam, 36, and Ramakrishnan Amirthalingham, 40, of Chennai had confessed to the killing.
The Times of India also quoted local police earlier in the day as saying that a confession had been obtained.
Both men ran a scrap metal business in Nakasi near Nausori with a local business partner and were reported missing in mid-December.
Their bodies were found in the remote farming settlement of Benai in Koronubu, Ba in Fiji’s western division on Saturday by a farmer digging an old pit latrine.
