Wife of Constitution architect deported

The wife of one of the architects of Fiji’s 1997 Constitution Dr Brij Lal was deported yesterday, Immigration officials have confirmed.

Dr Padma Lal was reportedly deported to Australia soon after her arrival on Monday at the Nadi airport.

It’s understood that her name is among those on the prohibited Immigrant list.

Immigration officers have confirmed that all the items confiscated from her were returned when she left Fiji yesterday morning.
