Most places in Fiji are now receiving normal water supply after main water pipes were closed for repair following Tropical Cyclone Mick.
Water Supply Department spokesman Maika Nagalu said supply restoration had to put on hold until the Fiji Electricity Authority restored power to the affected areas.
“Our reservoir needs power to pump water so we need electricity to restore water in most places,” Nagalu said.
“Some areas are experiencing low water pressure but it will soon normalise. We have water trucks on stand-by for areas that have low water pressure.”
Nagalu said people should boil their drinking water to guard against water-borne diseases.
