The partly decomposed bodies of a Fiji couple reported missing last month have been found in an apartment in Valelevu outside Suva.
Police spokeswoman Ema Dimila said the bodies of the couple believed to be in a de-facto relationship were discovered at around 5.30pm after neighbours complained of a foul smell.
“We were able to break into the house and found two bodies inside. Right now it’s too early to say whether the couple died of foul play or suicide because we’re still waiting for post mortem results,” Dimila told FijiLive.
Their bodies were found lying in a pool of dried blood in the bathroom.
She said the couple ran a kura (locally grown medicinal tree) soap business and were reported missing on December 19.
Their families believed the duo had gone overseas to attend to some business matters.
A police forensics team is at the scene to carry out investigations and collect samples for further tests.
The post mortem examination will be conducted today.
