A 35-year-old Fiji man died hours before New Year’s Eve celebrations went full throttle last night, in a road accident that has left his wife and one of their two sons, a five-year-old, seriously injured.
Police said the family was travelling to their Kalabu home when their vehicle collided with a four-wheel drive Pajero.
The man died instantly.
His wife and the five-year-old are seriously injured, with the boy on life-support while his 10-year-old brother suffered minor injuries and was not hospitalised.
The accident happened in Laqere, Nasinu at 5 pm yesterday bringing the road death toll for the year to 47.
