At least two civil servants are among the nine people who appeared in a special court sitting for drunk driving at Nausori this afternoon.
They have been fined $500 each and have had their driving licences disqualified for six months.
The men appeared before Magistrate Chaitanya Latchman.
Police have again expressed concern over the number of people who have been caught drunk while driving.
So far 26 people have been charged with drunk driving on Christmas and Boxing Day, police have confirmed.
