A group of youths from Suva hired a taxi last night, robbed the driver with a knife and threatened to kill him on the way to their destination.
They then tied him up and threw him out in Vatuwaqa.
Police have confirmed receiving the report saying the incident was an unfortunate one.
According to an officer from the Central Police Station, the youths identity are yet to be known and charges will be laid as soon as investigations are complete.
“They hired the taxi from Suva and wanted to take it towards Nausori,” the officer said.
The driver has been treated for his injuries and sent home.
