Hundreds of families gathered across the country today to mark the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The annual event is celebrated in style where families, friends and religious organizations remember the Saviour’s birth.
Students and children who spoke to FijiLive said the best thing about Christmas was meeting up with all family members and the exchange of gifts.
Samu Tupou, 6, of Lami said Christmas was one event he looked forward to every year because he loved presents.
“My mum also brought gifts for my two sisters, so yes I am very excited. This is the only time of the year that we can do this,” Tupou said.
Asinate Waqa, 8, of Verata in Tailevu shared the same sentiments.
“I love going to church especially on Christmas eve because that’s the only time we can sing Christmas carols,” she said.
