Fuel prices have increased in Fiji today.
Kerosene is now selling at a $1.44 per litre - a six cents increase while there have been five cents per litre increases in the prices of unleaded fuel ($2.05), diesel ($1.76) and premix outboard fuel ($1.96).
Fiji’s Prices and Incomes Board said the increase in crude oil price is the greatest single factor behind the price hike.
British Petroleum service station attendant Inise Kaisoni said the increase is likely to affect their business.
“Most of our customers did not know about the new fuel price until they came to the service station this morning,” Kaisoni told FijiLive.
“The new fuel price not only affects the customers it also has an impact on our business. We’re not getting as much customers as before and I believe customers have found other alternatives as fuel prices continuously increase.”
