Four people including two security guards have been arrested and charged in Fiji in connection with an alleged ring in which dairy products worth more than $10,500 were stolen from the Rewa Dairy yard in Lautoka and resold to shops in the city.
The four are alleged to have conspired to carry out the thefts between November 19 and December 4.
The two others are a van driver and an unemployed man.
Police West Division spokesman Wame Bautolu said the four had access to a key which they used to gain access to the yard from where they allegedly took cartons of Rewa Life Milk, Rewa powdered milk and Rewa butter.
The items were allegedly resold to shops in Lautoka.
Bautolu said police discovered the alleged ring after an employee found some items missing and reported the matter to police.
He said one of the security guards had admitted to the crimes which were carried out on 10 separate occasions.
Police recovered $5,590 worth of the items during the investigation.
