Tourists to Fiji will get a chance for refund of tax they pay on goods and services from next year.
According to Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama, the Tourist VAT (value added tax) Refund Scheme, to be effective on February 1, 2010, will allow foreign passport tourists refund if they purchase goods over $500. He said that the TVRS will be available for departing tourists. “The scheme will position Fiji as a shopping haven,” he said in his 2010 National Budget Address at the Novotel Hotel in Lami today. * Get local and international rugby news & live updates/results on your phone.
