No duty on laptops, perfumes, ipods etc

Import duty will in 2010 be removed from luxury items such as perfumes, laptops, ipods and sunglasses.

Other items that will have duty reduced to zero per cent are, cosmetics, aftershave, MP 3 and MP 4 players.

In making the announcement today, Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said this move will encourage local competition.
