The Fiji National Provident Fund must go through reforms to ensure its viability, Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has announced in his 2010 Budget address.
He said the FNPF must embark on a review and reform process to ensure it continued to remain in a place of continue viability.
Bainimarama referred to comments this week by a visiting International Monetary Fund that the Fund must be safeguarded by reducing government’s reliance on the FNPF to fund Budget deficits.
He said the Singapore Economic Commission would assist in the review.
