Fiji’s National Dialogue Forum will begin in February 2010, Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has announced in the prelude to his 2010 Budget address in Suva.
However, Bainimarama has made it clear that the dialogue process, called for by the international community and the Commonwealth in a recent visit to Suva this year, will not distract from his government’s focus on building the economy.
He has reiterated that this focus will remain for the next five year’s as part of his government’s reformist and modernizing agenda.
Bainimarama said this approach is necessary on all fronts to strengthening the foundations of economic growth and prosperity, the theme of Budget 2010.
The Prime Minister is delivering his Budget address from the Novotel Hotel in Suva.
