Fiji’s Health Ministry has 13 vacancies at the specialised and senior levels, says permanent secretary Dr Salanieta Saketa.
Saketa told FijiLive the ministry is looking for anesthetists, radiologists and pathologists.
“We are looking at India, possibly other countries such as the Philippines and others (for recruitment),” she said.
“There have also been some offers from other countries who want to assist us.”
Saketa said the Australian government had been helping the ministry find recruits as a result of which they would be getting two anesthetists from Australia.
She was hopeful that some new specialists would be recruited soon.
