A Fiji man has been barred from entering Canada again after serving a nine-year-prison sentence for hunting and terrorizing teenage girls in Brooks almost a decade ago, the Calgary Herald reports.
Parvind Chand, 45, was reportedly deported to Fiji on Wednesday.
The report said, Chand, a former slaughterhouse worker, was convicted of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 17-year-old Brooks teenager and trying to abduct two others in January 2000.
It said Chand attacked an Edmonton teen in October 2000 while out on bail and awaiting trial.
Chand's 2000 reign of terror left citizens shaken in Brooks, a farming community of 10,000 people about 185 kilometres southeast of Calgary on the Trans-Canada Highway.
Chand was born in Fiji and came to Canada in 1990 "due to political and racial unrest," according to National Parole Board documents obtained by the Herald.
