Police ready to lay charges in cousin rape case

Police in Fiji expect to charge an 18-year-old later today with the alleged raped of his 12-year-old cousin in Buabua, Lautoka.

Police West spokesman Wame Bautolu told FijiLive the two were sleeping in the same room when the alleged rape took place on Friday.

Bautolu said the matter was reported to police by the victim’s parents.

The youth was taken into police custody yesterday.
