An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale has hit Fiji near the northern province of Bua, two days after a 7.2 quake was recorded in the waters between the two largest islands of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.
Today’s earthquake was recorded at 8.05 this morning, according to the Mineral Resources Department’s senior seismologist Lasarusa Vuetibau.
He said those living in and around Lekutu would have felt the earthquake.
Vuetibau said there had been no reports of damage.
