A Labasa man who struck his daughter’s fiancé with a cane knife at the weekend is due to appear in court this morning.

Police confirm the man has been charged with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The 50-year-old Muslim was arrested by Police after the incident at his home early Saturday morning.

Police spokesman Atunaisa Sokomuri said the 24-year-old victim is now in a “stable condition” at the Labasa Hospital.

He was hacked on his left arm, left shoulder and back by his girlfriend’s father who spotted him hiding under her bed.
