The decomposed body of a male was discovered in the Draunivi hills in Ra by a group of men on a camping trip, police said.

Police spokesman (western division) Wame Bautolu told FijiLive the men who spotted the body on Saturday were “so scared” and reported the matter to police the next day.

He said that a post mortem examination was carried out on the body, but they were still unable to determine the cause of death.

“The body was so badly decomposed,” he said.

The corpse, meanwhile, remains at the Nailaga mortuary, waiting for someone to identify it.

Bautolu said police assumed it was a male through the clothes and tattoos.
