Two puisne judges and three magistrates from Sri Lanka were sworn in by Fiji’s newly appointed President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau at Government House in Suva this afternoon.
The two puisne judges are Justice Kilivitige Priyantha Fernando and Justice Yohan Ian Fernando.
The three resident magistrates are Nanayakkara Kudaarachchige Don Kaweendra Nanayakkara, Rajasinghe Diyawadanage Roshan Thushara Rajasinghe and Henpitage Pushpa Nalintha Rangajeeva Wimalasena.
The new appointments are expected to ease the work load on the current judges and magistrates.
