A Labasa farmer was assaulted by two sons of his 53-year-old lover when he knocked on her bedroom window at the weekend, said police.
Police spokesman Atunaisa Sokomuri said the two brothers heard rapping on the louver blade of their home on Friday night and went outside to check.
When they did not see anyone in their compound, one of the siblings returned inside the house while the other hid in the garden.
“The brother who remained outside saw the victim walking back to the house and attacked him,” he said. “The other brother who had gone into the house came out and joined in the assault.”
The victim sustained injuries. He told police that he was returning from a prayer meeting.
Sokomuri said all three men have been questioned by police, but no charge has been laid yet.
